Meet Cassie
Welcome! I’m Cassie, a highly trained and passionate therapist specialising in Child Centred Play Therapy / Counselling, Filial Therapy and professional support for Teachers and Educators in early childhood environments. With over 20 years of experience working with children and families, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective support tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

My journey in therapeutic practice is built on a strong foundation of advanced training and qualifications. I hold a Master’s in Special and Inclusive Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Teaching, and a Diploma of Counselling. I am a certified Child Centred Play Therapist, having completed the Advanced Clinical Training Program with Play Therapy Training Australia. I’m also trained in delivering Dr. Stephen Porges’ Safe and Sound Protocol, a powerful tool for supporting individuals with trauma and anxiety.

In addition to my play therapy expertise, I offer specialised training in filial therapy—a unique approach that empowers parents to play a key role in their child's emotional and behavioral development. My extensive experience includes working with children through both directive and non-directive methods, providing inclusion support, and offering trauma-informed practices. I also provide individual support and advice for parents, carers, and professionals, helping them navigate the complexities of childhood and family dynamics.

My commitment to ongoing professional development ensures that I provide the highest quality service. I am currently completing the supervised clinical hours required for Clinical membership with Play Therapy Training Australia and I am a Member of the Australian Counselling Association. Regular clinical supervision is a cornerstone of my practice, allowing me to meet ethical and professional guidelines and continually refine my skills.

While my primary focus is on therapeutic practices, my background in early childhood education enriches my approach, allowing me to see the whole child and work collaboratively with families, children and educators. I believe that understanding a child’s behavior as a form of communication is key to unlocking their potential and supporting their emotional well-being.
